Noble. a pilot, smashed the land speed record in 1983 driving Thrust 2. The jet-powered car travelled at 633 mph across Black Rock Desert, Nevada USA. He was awarded the OBE and went on to project manage the Thrust SSC record breaker driven by Andy Green 1997. Andy Green was a pilot of supersonic fighters taken on for not only his fearless approach to high speed but also his systematic approach to the record attempts. Unfortunately the success of SSC in going supersonic: achieving a speed of 763 mph in Nevada made it so no one wants to attempt the record. Who wants to be the second guy to go supersonic?
